Scouting Heritage
SCOUTING – SELF:
Toni is a Vigil Scouter and the recipient of Scouting's Silver Beaver Award. He is also a "three bead" Wood Badger, having staffed several Wood Badge courses. His original Wood Badge course was SC-29 conducted at Philmont in the summer of 1974. He was in the Bear Patrol. Toni's Vigil name is Anatschiton (One Who Cares).
SCOUTING – DESCENDANTS:
All of our sons achieved their Eagles as have our six eldest grandsons - Richie, Colby, Kelby, Ryan, Cameron & Timothy. Robert is a Silver Beaver and a "three bead" Wood Badger; he is also a member of the Stake Young Men’s Presidency for the Blanding West Stake. Larry also earned his Wood Badge Beads. David and his wife oversee the Chief Manuelito Chapter of the Order of the Arrow.
Our sons Robert & David, daughter-in-law Donna, and grandsons Ryan & Cameron have all been elected to the Vigil Honor. Robert's Vigil name is Nag'atamen (Reliable One). David's Vigil name is Wulihan (One Who Does Good For Others). Donna's Vigil name is Achgeketun (Teacher), Ryan's Vigil name is Sachgagunummen (One Who Leads) and Cameron's Vigil name is Welapensit (Blessed One). Ryan was elected the 2009-2010 Lodge Chief for the Tu-Cubin-Noonie Lodge, and re-elected to the same position for 2010-2011.
Kelby was awarded the Honor Medal with Crossed Palms. This award is only rarely given in exceptional cases to a scout that has demonstrated both unusual heroism and extraordinary skill or resourcefulness in saving or attempting to save life at extreme risk to self.
Toni, Robert & David are James E. West Scouters as are Donna, Ryan, Cameron & Timothy.
Scouting continues our pioneer heritage into the present. |
